A Direct Poll from my old forumers

I was in this boards. There was a certain forumer who posted a petition that concerns the removal of FM.

In that topic in some site. There is a forum mod that created really a big mistake. Many mistake. And the forumer who made this wants to correct the wrong doings of the mod. But the FM did so many intolerable things that are enough to fire her in that kind of position, like closing a healthy thread because she saw ranting and rages without solid proof.

Some forumers believed that right after that person came to the community, the whole boards are messed up and alot of issues that was connected to her suddenly popped out.

Actually they doubt that FM, as a newbie FM. Mean she have no great or deeper knowledge on community control

Ever since that happen, the comminuty almost lost the right of expressing themselves out. Expressing their opinions.

Then the certain FM that was pointed showed up and said this:

"Mhmm~

Petition threads - Threads designed to announce, appeal or contest a banning decision on behalf of a third party will be removed without notice.

Note: Petitions or any complaints will be and should be done in private as for better understanding of the current situation. This is to ensure that other people would not be able to join in the discussion, which may ruin the flow of the investigation.
"

At this post, 90% of the people saw it as a not good thing to do. That why should they talk it in private?

That isn't it petition should be open for public for Forumers to know and try to voice their opinions?

What do you think?

Then again another certain FM came up:

As I have said before, it is an idea. Still on the works, can be done or not... Well we're still thinking of viable options to make this community better... but since petition threads like these tend to bring out flames, which makes things out of control, so that is why we are thinking of possible ways to prevent these kinds of things from happening again.

This might mean that the FM's on that board can't handle a petition correctly. While on my other boards, they can handle the petition nice and clean. Meaning in my old boards, everyone has the right to participate in a petition that is made by a certain member or forum member, and that petition is not deemed to be private.

Suddenly a member came in and said:

Not all petition threads are susceptible to flames. Take for example the Return the Infinity Sword Damage petition thread. It wasn't susceptible to flames. Which is why we need to identify which petition threads really post a danger. As of now, you only describe petition threads being this, not petition threads CAN be this.

Correct he is. Not ALL petitions are susceptible for FLAMES.

Since I can handle the thing alone. I decided to come by in the old boards and posted a topic with a poll on it. Namely: Should PETITION be talked Private?

And here is the result:

One of the forumers who voted there answered me this:

a forum is not a forum when there is no freedom of speech, and a petition is to let other people know what cause you are fighting/rooting for, and in every petition there is always info on what the point of the petition is, one of which is to let people know that a certain change is needed/wanted, even in real life there is no such thing as a private petition, it is always open to the public in one way or another, and restricting letting people know that change is needed goes against this freedom of speech which then disregards the purpose of a forum.

He is also indeed correct.

Actually, FM's in that board just don't accept their wrong. They only see the regular member's wrong doing and not theirs which is truly an abuse.

You know who you are FM's.

Being a Senate is much harder than being a Forum Moderator.

If you believe that petition should be private. Think again. Why don't you guys make a poll and ask the whole community about PETITION BEING PRIVATE?

If you guys like private petitions, I suggest you drop your position and walk away if you can't handle such responsibility.

JUST PROVE ME WRONG! SIMPLE AS THAT... AND YOU'LL GET MY WHOOPING APOLOGY!

BUT THINK AGAIN. If you think that Petition should be private... you should go to our boards and see if there was a petition being private. Let's see if you guys are SO RIGHT.
