What to do when your Guild Leader is not leading effectively?

Every now and then when playing a online game you will find that you are growing away from those you are playing with. This of course does depend on your mentality in the game and how much you play it. If you don't play so much and ain't so dedicated to become best you probably wont have a problem with this, but if you play a lot and truly aim to be one of the top players you will have the change guild a couple of times a long the way most likely. The fact is that not everyone have the same goal in the game and therefore some take the game a lot more casual than other people will. A guild leader will typically force the guild to progress in the pace that fits the leader best and therefor a casual leader with have a casual guild. And a hardcore dedicated leader will have a hardcore dedicated guild, you get the point.

When joining a guild you should try to find out everything you can about the guild first so you don't end up in a guild that don't suit you. A guild that either expect more or less from you than you can give. The easiest way is to talk with the leader, everything from how the leader talks to what he or she says will be hints on what kind of guild he or she runs. A effective leader will be dedicated and play a lot and he or she will be 100% sure over what they want to achieve in the game. If you aim to play a lot and progress fast in the game you will need a leader with that exact same mentality. While if you want to take it slow you will need a leader that might not be so experienced or hardcore. Every leader of a guild is different and finding the perfect one is not always easy. Sometimes the leader will want to be hardcore, but just don't have the required leadership qualities needed to run a high end guild. Those are difficult and frustrating situations for the people in the guild as they want to progress, but because of poor leadership they can't. Then either a new leader or quitting the guild is in its place. Its a bit drastic, but required.

There are a lot of poor leaders out there thinking they are better than they are, look out for them. No matter what you look for in the game you need to find like minded people that will be interested in joining in on the same level you want to play on. And even though you like a person a lot it doesn't make the person a good leader. If your heart is stopping you from leaving a guild or asking to change guild leader, then reconsider. A bad leader will hinder any progress and destroy the game experience. There should be no mercy in online games.
